Home School Community Liaison Scheme (HSCL)
The Home School Community Liaison Scheme (HSCL) was established nationally in 1990. In 2022, we were very fortunate that the scheme was introduced to us here in Coláiste Bríde.
My name is Eleanor Harpur, and I am the HSCL (Home School Community Liaison) Co-ordinator in the school. I have been a teacher here for many years and, now, I am delighted to have been appointed HSCL in Coláiste Bríde.
My role as HSCL
My role involves providing the necessary help and support to parents/guardians while at the same time strengthening the relations between school and home. Life, as we all know, can sometimes present challenges and difficulties for teenagers in school and therefore, the HSCL scheme is designed to support our students through creating a partnership between home, school, and the community.
Home visits
I may get the opportunity to meet with many of you through home visits, where I can listen to your concerns regarding your child in school and offer information and support to overcome any difficulties school may be presenting. The HSCL scheme aims to create an awareness of the opportunities that are available to your child in Coláiste Bríde.
The focus, therefore, is to improve the educational outcomes for students.
Parent Classes
Throughout the year we offer various parent activities on VS Ware. We encourage you to come along, meet with other parents, learn a new skill maybe, and enjoy the fun along the way.
My phone number is 083 1134947, feel free to ring me.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Eleanor Harpur
