South Ease Inter A League Final Match Report
by Niamh Windsor Colaiste Bríde brought their hockey season to a close with a great win over Kilkenny College in the final of the South Ease Inter A League. The schools team and their supporters travelled to Kilkenny for the match on Wednesday March 19th. From the very start the home team were under pressure with some great movement and passing throughout the field by our girls. The early pressure resulted in the opening goal by Grace Mernagh in the tenth minute. Despite all their good work Coláiste Bride were unable to add to this score and at half time it remained one nil to the away team. In the second half we maintained the upper hand over the home team. Although KiIkenny tried very hard great defending kept them out and they were kept scoreless for the entire match. Coláiste Bríde added three more goals through Emer O’Leary, Molly Boyne and captain Deirdre Kehoe. Coláiste Bride emptied the bench and all the players made a significant contribution to the win. After the match captain Deirdre Kehoe thanked everyone involved and congratulated the players on a fantastic performance.
