On the 26th of October, a ‘Youth Connect’ talk took place for all TY students. A woman came in and taught us about our rights as young employees. Many of us students are at an age that we are legally allowed to have a part time job and because we are young, it could be easy for employers to treat us unfairly. This talk informed us of our rights so that we can all make sure we are being treated as we should in a working environment!

On the 24th of November, our school’s TY students went on a trip to Dublin. We went to UCD and spent a few hours on campus looking around. Some of us could potentially study there in the future when we leave school, so it was interesting to see what it’s like. We then headed to Dundrum shopping centre to get something to eat and do some shopping. And finally, we went to the RDS to see a rugby match. There was a great atmosphere and we all had lots of fun. It was a very long day and we didn’t get home until after 11 o’clock, but we all had a great time and it was a really good experience! to edit.
