French Tour 2012
|
For the last number of years the French department has been running a 4 day sight-seeing trip to Paris for senior students, every second year. The last trip took place in October 2012 when 21 students together with their teachers Ms. McGrath and Mrs Leech set off for “The City of Light”.
On day 1 the group enjoyed a sight-seeing bus tour of the city, followed by a spectacular night-time visit to the Eiffel Tower. Day 2 saw the group enjoying famous works of art in the Louvre museum – The Mona Lisa, Venus De Milo and the Victory of Samothrace, to mention a few. We followed that with a tour of Notre Dame Cathedral, the Champs Elysées and a trip up to the top of the Arc de Triomphe for a fantastic view of the whole city. Day 2 ended in another climb up the steps to Montmatre and the Sacré Coeur. Day 3 was spent enjoying the roller coasters in Eurodisney and ended in a leisurely boat trip on the Seine. Day 4, our final day, was spent at the beautiful Château De Versailles where students enjoyed the beautiful gardens and fountains, as well as the magnificent and historic château itself. The trip was rounded off with a stop at “Parly 2” shopping centre, before we left French soil. |
